Our Last Day in Hawaii:Part 1

Our last morning in Hawaii and what do our eyes behold....

We didn't have to check out of our hotel until 1:00pm, so my parents and Madilynn rode the bus to the Iolani Palace to take the tour that we'd missed a few days earlier. The had a wonderful time. They weren't allowed to take pictures inside, but Gam & Pa bought Madi a book there that has pictures from inside the palace and the history behind it. It's her most prized possesion she brought home with her!:)

Jer, & Kenzie wanted to snorkel so we headed out to Hanauma Bay. Got there only to find it's close on Tuesday's. Poor Kenz, was so sad!!! She loved snorkling there the year before. We decided to drive up the coast a bit so at least Kenzie and Molly could play at the beach.

Just up from Hanauma Bay is the beach that was used in the film From Here to Eternity, called The Cove! Yes, it's that beautiful!!!


We stopped at Sandy Beach just around the corner.

We were warned by a lifegaurd on duty that due to high surf and strong current this is not a swimming beach. We enjoyed playing in the sand and digging Molly a huge hole to sit in.

...and I almost had a heartattack watching this guy who obviously ignored the signs & lifeguard!

I seriously thought he had broken his neck just lying there like that!!!

He came up, and I of course had a few words with him! CRAZY!!! Scared me to death!!

We all met back at the hotel around 12:30, loaded up the car, and it was time to say farewell to Waikiki!
Goodbye most loved ABC stores and their ode to Obama!HA!
..and as the tradition goes we gave our Lei's to the DUKE!!


We still had 5.5 hrs. before our flight so, last Day in Hawaii Part 2 coming up.....
