Our Hawaii Vacation (day 1&2)

We are still in Oahu, but I have some time this morning to start posting about our trip.

Jer had a brilliant idea back in Oct. 2008. He and I had been talking about our summer plans for 2009. He was saying how he'd like to take our parent's on a vacation instead of us just going to their homes to visit. So, an idea was born and it took off from there. Due to Jer traveling so much in 2008 we were able to bring our family of 5, and our parents on free flights, & free hotel vacation!!!! YAHOO!!!!

We began our travel to Hawaii on July 15th flying out of Salt Lake City with my in laws. We left at 2:30pm and made a stop in Seattle. Here is a beautiful shot of Mt. Rainier

Grandpa and Madi waiting to board our flight to Honolulu
Grandma helping Molly stay happy while we wait
Jer doing a little work while we wait. After this, he only got his laptop out late at night, or in the very early morning. Plus, his Blackberry wasn't working to receive work email(I look at it as a small blessing) He has really relaxed on this trip, and I'm so happy about that.

We left Seattle at 5:30pm and arrived in Honolulu at 8:00pm Hawaii time, which was midnight Utah time. We were so tired!!! The girls all did great on the flight, even Miss Molly. Our flight to Maui wasn't until 11 the next morning, so we spent the night in Honolulu.
Here we are grabbing a quick breakfast on July 16th before catching our flight to Maui. Miss Molly obviously not wanting to be in the picture!
Fun map at the airport
Our plane to Maui

Grandma needed to swallow a pill just after we took off. She was using Kenzie's water bottle but I said not to put her mouth on it, since Kenz had a cough. It was so funny watching her try to get the water in her mouth. I love the lady across the aisle watching her.
Our flight attendant(Madi loved the flower in her hair)
Molokini Crater just off Maui coast
Maui here we come
The Luggage(try fitting all this in a mini-van):) Jer and his dad should be hired to pack cars, they do a great job!
Older sister bugging younger sister by not sharing her root beer.
Miss Molly taking a snooze
We arrived at the Wailea Marriott
...to see this beautiful view as we stepped out of the van
Looking back toward lobby then walked in our rooms
to this beautiful view off the balcony
looking back into my inlaws suite(our room was connected next door)
We were all starving so it was off to Cheeseburger Paradise(Island Style) at the shops next door
Walked around to enjoy the resort scenery

the girls loved laying in the hammocks
Time to swim(the resort has 5 pools)
..and enjoy our first Maui sunset!

Welcome to Paradise!!!
